Bexleyheath Parking: Council Car Parks, Charges, Permits and Penalty Notices
Which council car parks serve Bexleyheath and Bexley village, what they charge as published, how RingGo works, and where to find permits and penalty charge notice help.
Council parking in Bexleyheath, Bexley village, Barnehurst and Upton is run by the London Borough of Bexley. The charges below are quoted as published on the council's pages at the time of writing (October 2026). Parking charges change, so always check the sign in the car park and the council's car parks page before you rely on a figure.
What council car parks are there in Bexleyheath?
The council operates 18 car parks across the borough, all open 24 hours. Its Bexleyheath page lists these:
- Bexleyheath Station, Avenue Road (DA7 4EQ): 193 public bays, 8 disabled bays, EV charging, charging period Monday to Sunday 8am to midnight. RingGo code 25962.
- Albion Road Multi-Storey (DA6 7LB): 322 public bays, 4 disabled bays, charging 24 hours a day. The council notes it has no lift. RingGo code 25963.

In Bexley village, the council lists Bexley High Street (DA5 1LB) and Thanet Road (DA5 1AP). Thanet Road has 53 bays and a Park Mark award, and has electric vehicle charging bays.
What do they cost?
The council's published examples include the following. These are samples, not the full tariff:
- Albion Road Multi-Storey: 30 minutes 90p by RingGo, 1 hour £1.70, 2 hours £3.00, charged 24 hours.
- Bexley High Street (8am to midnight): 30 minutes £1.00 by RingGo, 1 hour £1.70, 4 hours £4.00.

The full price list for every car park is on the council's page, along with the other car parks in the borough.
How do I pay?
You can pay by RingGo or with a pay and display ticket. The council says RingGo adds a mandatory 20p convenience fee per transaction, and that parking sessions can be arranged in advance of arrival. Disabled Blue Badge holders park free and unlimited in the council's car parks when the badge is correctly displayed.
Is on-street parking controlled?
Yes, in parts. The council lists controlled parking zones across Bexleyheath and other towns, with maximum stays and charging hours that vary by zone. For most Bexleyheath zones the published charging hours are Monday to Saturday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, though some zones differ. Read the signs on your street.
How do I get a parking permit?
The council offers resident permits, business permits, car park season tickets, visitor scratch cards and social care permits. You apply online by creating a permit account. You need one proof of residence (a utility bill within three months, a Council Tax bill or a driving licence) and one proof of vehicle ownership (such as the V5C). Enter your registration carefully and do not mix up the letters I and O with the digits 1 and 0. The council says libraries and the Civic Offices no longer process permit applications in person. Permit prices are not on the overview page, so see the permits page.
What about a Blue Badge?
Badges are free, but the council's page says there is a £10 administration fee, refunded if you do not qualify. Applications go through Inspire Community Trust online, and you must collect the badge in person. See the Blue Badge page for who qualifies.
What if I get a penalty charge notice?
Most people pay online using the PCN reference, which the council says is in the format XL followed by 8 characters. You can also pay by phone on 0330 088 3736, or by post to Bexley Parking Services, PO Box 1166, Wellington House, Uxbridge UB8 9BD. The council says it does not send communications about PCNs by text message, so do not click links in a text claiming to be about a parking fine. The PCN payment page also explains how to challenge a notice and view photo evidence.
The council's pages currently report technical issues with online card payments, so if a card payment will not go through, use the alternative methods it lists.
Parking at train stations is run by the station operator rather than the council, and we cover that in our train stations guide.
