Bexleyheath Markets, Events and What's On
How to find out what's on in Bexleyheath and Bexley village: the council's events calendar, town centre events, night markets and the National Trust at Red House.
We do not publish dates for markets and events here, because they change and an out-of-date date is no use to anyone. This guide tells you what the official pages say exist and where to find current dates.
Where can I see what's on?
The London Borough of Bexley keeps an events calendar covering the whole borough. When we looked on 1 October, it listed, among others, a free class of the month at Crook Log Leisure Centre, a lunch club at Geddes Place URC every Thursday, and an online fostering information session. The calendar is paginated, so page through it for the weeks ahead.
What is Bexleyheath town centre like?
The council describes Bexleyheath as the borough's primary shopping destination, with the Broadway Shopping Centre, independent shops and major brands, and Morley's Department Store. It names the clock tower, opened in 1912, and Danson House, Grade I listed, set in a 12-acre park. It says the evening economy has restaurants and bars, and that a Business Improvement District organises themed events throughout the year. See the council's town centres page.
Are there markets?
The council's high streets page says Bexleyheath town centre partners recently hosted a successful series of night markets as part of its High Streets for All programme. The page does not give dates. We could not confirm current dates or the market days from the pages we read, so check the council's events calendar and the town centre's own channels for the next one.
What about Bexley village?
The council describes Bexley village as a place near the Kent border with a winding High Street of independent shops, tearooms and restaurants, with Foots Cray Meadows nearby and ample parking. See the town centres page. For parking, see our parking guide.
What other places run events?
Danson House runs guided heritage tours and weddings, and holds monthly wedding open mornings on Saturdays, 9:30 to 10:30am, according to the council's Danson House page. Red House runs ticketed guided tours from May to October, as covered in our parks and kids guide; the National Trust page lists its events.
Can I trade at an event or on the Broadway?
The council says that applications for a street trading licence in the Broadway pedestrian area go through the Business Improvement District. Other licences are covered on the council's licensing pages.
