Who runs the centres?

The council's leisure centre news page refers to Parkwood Leisure facilities, and the centres' own pages sit on leisurecentre.com. That website says on its about page that it promotes the services of Parkwood Leisure Ltd, 1Life Management Solutions Ltd and related companies. The council's pages do not set out the contract terms, so we do not either.

How do I book?

The centre's timetable page says classes and activities are available with a membership or pay-as-you-go, and that booking is quick through the app and website. The opening times page recommends booking in advance, especially at peak times for bookable activities.

The memberships page lists Premium All-Inclusive, All-Inclusive and Swimming options, plus Shapemaster membership, which the centre describes as suitable for older adults, people with long-term conditions and people recovering from injuries. Prices are shown there and can change, so we do not copy them here.

Are there other pools nearby?

Two other borough centres are listed by the council, both on the same website:

Sidcup Leisure Centre, Hurst Road, Sidcup, DA15 9AE, 0208 302 0556. The centre page lists a 25m pool, a heated learner pool, a 120+ station gym and 60+ classes a week. Published hours are 6:30am to 10pm Monday to Friday and 7:30am to 6pm at weekends.

Erith Leisure Centre, Avenue Road, Erith, DA8 3AT, 01322 350 271. The centre page lists a 25m and a 13m pool, a 90+ station gym, 20+ classes a week and a group cycling studio. Published hours are 6:30am to 10pm Monday to Thursday, 6:30am to 8pm Friday and 7:30am to 6pm at weekends.

Is there a free way to try a class?

The council says each centre offers a free class of the month that non-members can try, subject to availability, by getting in touch with the centre. The October 2026 classes listed on the council's page are Coach by Colour Performance indoor cycling at Crook Log on Thursday from 6:45am to 7:30am, Boxercise at Erith on Thursday from 6pm to 6:45pm and Les Mills Shapes at Sidcup on Monday from 1:05pm to 1:50pm. The same page describes a Promising Athletes Programme offering free access for athletes who meet its published eligibility criteria.

What about watersports and other activities?

Danson Park Adventures, the council's watersports centre at Danson Park, says it offers water and land-based activities and courses for anyone aged eight or over, plus public rowing boats and pedalos for hire. Its council page says participants must be water confident, and that you book by emailing watersports@bexley.gov.uk or phoning 020 8303 2828, with payment required to confirm a booking.

The council's sport and fitness page also lists bowls clubs, Barnehurst Golf Club, Couch to 5K and a directory of deaf and disability sports activities.

If you are thinking of Sidcup, our sister site Sidcup.co covers that town.
